Interstate 280 Eastmoor Avenue Off-Ramp

The Eastmoor Avenue off-ramp from Interstate 280 into Daly City opened to traffic in 1999.

Built alongside the Sullivan Avenue off-ramp, the new off-ramp improved traffic flow and provided safer egress for vehicles entering Daly City from southbound I-280. Before the off-ramp was added, more than 260 accidents occurred at the Sullivan Avenue exit in a three-year period.

A new 17-foot-tall bridge for utility pipe lines to cross I-280 also was included in the project. The new bridge replaced an older one that needed seismic strengthening and was too low for the new off-ramp. At the same time, Daly City relocated it own utility lines.

At the same time, Sullivan Avenue was widened and repaved and new landscaping was added.
